Recently, due to continuous overcast weather, the fruit setting ability of sweet peppers was poor. Many vegetable farmers were very anxious when they saw that sweet peppers only grew and did not bear fruit. So some vegetable farmers thought of using the flowers on eggplants and tomatoes for medicinal purposes on sweet peppers. As a result, some sweet peppers were sitting on the fruit, but the sweet peppers produced were small and hard, and grew slowly. Some directly became stiff fruits, and the vegetable farmers had to pick these fruits again. Sweet pepper is a self pollinating vegetable that can bear fruit on its own as long as the conditions are suitable. The suitable temperature required for the flowering and fruiting period of sweet peppers is 25-28 ℃, with a temperature difference of 10-12 ℃ between day and night. If the night temperature is too high and the temperature difference between day and night is too small, it is not easy to sit still. This requires measures such as shading and increasing ventilation to control the excessive temperature in the greenhouse. If necessary, it is possible to spray chloroquine or chloroquine to control plant growth and promote flowering and fruit setting. In addition, if the sweet pepper does not set well on long-term cloudy days, it can be promoted to set by shaking the tree, but the method of flowering cannot be adopted. Otherwise, it is not only easy to cause hormone poisoning, but also the fruit quality is poor, and can only be sold as a defective product.
2. Poor control of watering amount. Sweet pepper is a shallow rooted crop with underdeveloped roots, with a large number of roots concentrated in soil between 10 and 15 centimeters, which is both afraid of drought and waterlogging. It should be noted that if the sweet pepper lacks water during the fruiting period, it is easy to develop navel rot. On the contrary, if the amount of water used during the fruiting period is too large, it is very easy to cause the sweet pepper to wilt and even die. In this regard, it is recommended that vegetable farmers determine whether to water the soil based on the degree of dryness and wetness, and should not flood it with excessive water.
3. Insufficient supply of potassium fertilizer. The demand ratio for nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium during the growth period of sweet pepper is 3:1:4. It can be seen that sweet pepper has the highest demand for potassium fertilizer. If the supply of potassium fertilizer is insufficient, sweet pepper plants are prone to lodging, small fruits, and low yields. Regarding this, after the sweet pepper has set its fruit, it is generally necessary to apply high potassium fertilizer when it reaches the size of a walnut, to meet the plant's demand for potassium fertilizer. Full water-soluble fertilizer Fangrun (20:10:30) can be applied, and 5-8 kilograms per mu can be used.
